Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Rehabilitation Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year (level 1 trauma preferred) License: Current RN license required Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: - Experience in trauma rehabilitation - Ability to work all scheduled shifts - Ability to float within scope of practice Description: Position is for a Registered Nurse in a rehabilitation unit. Shift is days, three 12-hour shifts from 07:00 to 19:30. Unit serves primarily trauma rehabilitation patients. Patient types include traumatic spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, and stroke patients. Specialty care includes burn patients and individuals with two or more amputations. Ventilator-dependent patients are also cared for, with a maximum of two at a time. The goal is often to wean these patients off the ventilator. Unit also accommodates acute care patients and prioritizes flap patients. Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:3 to 1:5, depending on the time of day. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. Nurses will work every other weekend and must be open to floating within similar units. Must possess strong acute inpatient rehabilitation skills and knowledge of various procedures. Charting is completed using an electronic health record system. The candidate must be flexible and adaptable to changing schedules and patient needs.
