Senior Controls Technician

Job Overview Field-based: Work is conducted on-site at customer locations. Job Responsibilities Commissioning, programming, setting up graphics and communications links, and end‑to‑end testing, troubleshooting and servicing on assigned projects. Documenting point‑to‑point verification, sequence of operations validation, and job close‑out requirements. Representing the company as the direct customer contact and servicing products and equipment on assigned projects, ensuring customer satisfaction by identifying, diagnosing and repairing equipment and systems at the customer’s location. Coordinating with team leader and customer to understand on‑site installation and repair requirements by examining building layouts, forecasting issues, gathering materials and synchronizing on‑site work. Keeping current on Trane products concerning installation, operation, maintenance, service and repair of direct digital control systems. Enforcing safety to the highest standards and maintaining security and accountability of company‑issued and procured assets by recording use, wear and conditions. Demonstrating team effort and dedication to customer by maintaining flexibility to work overtime and weekends as the business requires, including occasional overnight stays. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent, or certificate of completion from an accredited technical school. Typically requires at least 7 years of experience in HVAC/Controls. Technical School or formal training is preferred. Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office software and working proficiency with handheld computers (e.g., smartphone, iPad). Valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months with no major or frequent traffic violations, including DUI, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless / Careless Driving or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years. Previous experience with DDC controls systems is preferred. Compensation Hourly base pay range: $41.38 – $51.49. Compensation may vary based on seniority, experience, geographic location, education, travel requirements and union designation.
