As a Canvasser for AZ Poder, you will be on the front lines of our community-powered electoral campaign. You'll talk with voters at their doors, in neighborhoods, and at eventshaving real conversations about the issues that matter and moving our people to turnout for elections and take political action. You'll represent AZ Poder with integrity, and you'll be trained and supported every step of the way.

We are hiring canvassers who reflect the Black, Brown, and Indigenous communities we work in across the west side of Phoenix and surrounding areas. Canvassers should believe deeply in racial and social justice and be ready to get to work building grassroots political power not just for one election, but for generations. This is a cycle job ending November 2026.

AZ Poder is a 501c4 organization that builds the social and political power of BIPOC communities, young people, and working class people in Phoenix. We work alongside our communities to transform the systems and institutions that impact their daily lives. Through organizing, political education, advocacy, and electoral engagement we harness our communities' power to create long, joyful, thriving lives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Go door-to-door and engage in meaningful, issue-based conversations with voters with the goal to turnout the vote for key local candidates who represent AZ Poder's values
• Use voter lists and mobile tools to track conversations and record data accurately (training provided)
• Educate community members on voting logistics (registration, deadlines, polling locations, etc.)
• Talk to voters about AZ Poder's endorsed candidates and issues
• Distribute flyers, literature, and other campaign materials
• Attend canvass launches, trainings, and regular team meetings
• Work closely with team leads to meet daily and weekly outreach goals
• Represent AZ Poder with professionalism, care, and alignment to our values
• Be open to political education, feedback, and growth in the field

Required Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Passionate about social justice, racial equity, and community power
• Willing and able to knock on doors and talk to people you don't know
• Comfortable using a smartphone or tablet to enter data
• Reliable, punctual, and able to meet outreach goals
• Available to work evenings and weekends
• Able to work outdoors in various weather conditions
• Spanish fluency highly preferred; additional languages (e.g., Somali, Swahili, Arabic, Tohono O'odham) a plus

Logistics:

• Salary: $25 per hour (training pay), $30 per hour (after training)
• Status: Part-time, Temporary (Campaign cycle)
• Hours: 12-40 per week, flexible schedules available (evenings and weekend availability required)
• Location: Phoenix, AZ (Field-based, with in-person engagement required)
