Virtus Healthcare Staffing is seeking a skilled Outpatient Neurologist (MD/DO) to join a growing and multidisciplinary Neurosciences team. Physicians will practice in a hospital-based outpatient neurology clinic conveniently located on campus.


Position Summary


The incoming Neurologist will provide comprehensive outpatient neurological care, including neurotesting and collaborative patient management. With access to advanced technology, multidisciplinary colleagues, and opportunities to teach residents and medical students, this role is ideal for a physician seeking professional growth while maintaining balance with no call, weekend, or holiday requirements.


Core Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality outpatient neurological care in a hospital-based clinic setting.
• Perform and interpret neurodiagnostic testing.
• Collaborate with neurosurgeons, interventional neuroradiologists, radiation oncologists, rehabilitation specialists, and neurohospitalists for coordinated patient care.
• Participate in the multidisciplinary Neurospine and Neurosciences Center.
• Provide educational support through teaching and precepting opportunities.

Skills & Qualifications

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurology.
• Active Alabama medical license (MD/DO) with no restrictions.
• DEA certification.
• Preferred: Post-graduate training or sub-certification in EMG/NCV .
• Strong interest in outpatient neurology and multidisciplinary collaboration.

• Outpatient-only practice model with no call, weekends, or holidays .
• Neurointerventional services and stroke teleneurology support in place.
• Dedicated Neuromuscular Rehab & Balance Center available.
• Multidisciplinary Neurosciences team for full-spectrum patient care.
