Computer Numerical Control Machinist

Shift: 1st Shift | 6:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Machinist to set up and operate manual and CNC machines to manufacture precision parts and components in a high-technology manufacturing environment. This role requires expertise in machining operations, blueprint interpretation, CNC setup, quality inspection, and precision measurement.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, program, and operate manual and CNC machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, grinders, and vertical machining centers.
- Manufacture precision parts according to engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
- Perform machine setup, tooling selection, adjustments, and routine maintenance.
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and engineering documentation.
- Measure and inspect finished parts using precision instruments such as micrometers and calipers.
- Calculate dimensions, tolerances, feeds, and speeds to ensure quality and efficiency.
- Troubleshoot machining issues and support prototype and production manufacturing activities.
- Maintain compliance with quality, safety, and manufacturing standards.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent with 6+ years of CNC machining experience, or an Associate Degree with 2+ years of related experience.
- Strong experience setting up and operating CNC and manual machining equipment.
- Thorough knowledge of metalworking tools, machining processes, and shop practices.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications.
- Experience working in a precision manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Mastercam, AutoCAD, Haas, and Hurco controls.
- CNC programming experience, including Mastercam.
- Experience with prototype and low-volume production machining.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Work Environment
Onsite position in a machine and metal fabrication shop environment supporting precision manufacturing operations.
