Description

American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist for a Level 1 Trauma academic medical center, requiring BLS, ARRT-CT certification, and 1+ year of CT experience.

Details

• Level 1 Trauma Designation academic medical center with 885 licensed beds, Chest Pain Center and Stroke Center
• CT Scan department serving Main Tower (24/7, 80-110 patients/day) and Cancer Center (60-80 patients/day)
• Adult and pediatric inpatient and outpatient population with diagnoses including cardiac conditions, stroke, aneurysm, bowel ischemia, pancreatitis, transplant, cirrhosis, kidney disease, metastatic evaluation, traumatic brain injury, fractures, pneumonia, thrombus, lymphoma, tumors, and bleeds
• Equipment includes Siemen's Flash, Siemen's Force, GE Apex Revolution, GE Lightspeed, GE Discovery, Siemen's Alpha Photon Counting, and Intellispace PACS
• EPIC EMR used
• 4x10 hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
• One weekend call rotation per assignment, taking call 7a-7p Saturday and Sunday
• Floating required to Main Reynold's Tower and Cancer Center

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of CT experience required
• BLS and ARRT-CT certification required
• License required if applicable
• Minimum 12 months core work experience in CT specialty, with most recent experience within the last year
• Skills required include IV starts, sliding/ceiling lift use, code stroke response, arterial and routine scans, and administering contrast through peripheral IVs and power ports/PICCs
• Experience working with inpatients, pediatrics, and ICU/trauma patients
• Ability to handle drains, lines, and tubing in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
• Experience running the desk and facilitating departmental workflow
• Cardiac and procedure experience preferred but not required
• Siemen's Alpha Photon Counting experience preferred but not required
• EPIC EMR experience preferred
• Last 4 of SSN and full DOB required for consideration
• Minimum 1 professional reference dated within one year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include performing CT scans, radiation safety practices, and teammate communication
• CT Supervisor provides departmental support; 3rd shift works independently
• Orientation includes NEO, 2 days departmental orientation, and first 2 weeks of training on required scanners
• Black scrub color required
• Free employee parking deck provided
• At least 1 holiday coverage preferred during the assignment
• First-time travelers accepted if candidate has CT experience
• Candidates must live outside a 50 mile radius of the facility to be eligible
• Returning employees must be separated from any AHSE facility for at least 1 year after working a permanent position
• Final interview conducted by the hiring manager
