Laboratory Furniture Designer

The Opportunity:Join our Laboratory Design Project Team and help shape innovative, high-performance laboratory environments that support scientific discovery and operational excellence. As a Laboratory Furniture Designer, you’ll collaborate closely with sales leaders, estimators, customers, and end users to develop laboratory solutions that balance functionality, workflow efficiency, flexibility, and budget requirements.You'll work on projects ranging from laboratory renovations to large-scale new construction initiatives supporting research, healthcare, education, manufacturing, and scientific innovation. As a trusted technical resource, you'll help guide design decisions and contribute to successful project outcomes through thoughtful planning, technical expertise, and customer-focused solutions.This is a hybrid position based in Dallas, TX, offering flexibility along with in-person collaboration for key meetings, training, and team engagement.What we’re looking forEducation: Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Engineering, or related field (preferred); Equivalent combination of education and experience will be consideredExperience: 2+ years of drafting or design experience requiredProficiency with AutoCAD and Revit requiredExperience managing multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining a high level of quality and accuracyExperience interpreting construction documents and specificationsPreferred Qualifications:4+ years preferred, ideally within laboratory, healthcare, architectural, industrial, interior systems, or construction-related environmentsKnowledge of SEFA standards and laboratory furniture systems preferredExperience with 2020, SAP, C4C, or Bluebeam a plusWhat You'll DoDesign innovative laboratory spaces for new construction and renovation projects using AutoCAD and RevitCreate detailed 2D and 3D drawings, including plans, elevations, and sections for fabrication and installationDevelop accurate bills of materials and manage change orders to ensure seamless project executionOptimize layouts through space planning, furniture selection, and value engineering principlesProvide technical design support throughout the project lifecycle, including furniture specification and design reviewsCoordinate and revise drawings based on feedback, specifications, and evolving project requirementsResearch and specify custom furniture solutions and vendor productsEnsure all designs meet quality standards, timelines, and customer expectationsPerform other duties as assignedWhat Success Looks LikeConsistently delivers accurate, high-quality designs on timeBuilds strong partnerships across teams and is recognized as a trusted resource for technical expertise and design supportSuccessfully manages multiple concurrent projects while maintaining exceptional quality, responsiveness, and attention to detailContributes ideas that improve processes, efficiency, and customer satisfactionSkills & CapabilitiesStrong communication and collaboration skillsAbility to interpret construction documents, specifications, and architectural drawingsDetail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and accountabilityStrong organization, time management, and problem-solving abilitiesProficiency in Microsoft Office 365Solid mathematical and spatial reasoning skillsWork EnvironmentHybrid work model with a combination of remote and in-office collaborationPrimarily office-based with standard working conditionsMinimal physical requirements (light lifting, occasional movement)#LI-HybridDisclaimer:The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this classification.
