Senior Project Manager

Position Overview The Senior Project Manager is a key role responsible for coordinating all activities within the Building Inspections Department, including project documentation management, permitting and plan review, and communication with clients, field inspectors, engineers, and municipalities. Responsibilities Develop and implement standardized processes for processing permits and plan reviews Maintain seamless communication with clients, owners, contractors, and stakeholders regarding the opening and closing of projects Attend preconstruction and on‑site meetings with clients and municipalities to ensure compliance Obtain documents from clients to facilitate the permit application process Obtain all required approvals for permits and act as the primary liaison between the company, client, and each municipality Prepare and submit applications to various agencies/boards having jurisdiction over required permits and/or approvals Review plans issued from the department for correct revision dates and review start packs for accuracy Collaborate with external consultants to coordinate paperwork and applications; submit, distribute, and file paperwork and enter data for various permits, such as building, standard plans, plan changes, and closeout documents Maintain all company files relating to permit applications, approvals, licenses, and closeout documents Foster a strong working relationship with municipalities to ensure timely permit processing Coordinate project activities and billing with the project coordinator Perform other duties as assigned Follow safety procedures Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Environmental Science, Business, or a related field; advanced degree or PMP certification preferred. 7+ years of progressive project management experience, preferably within engineering, environmental, or construction industries. Demonstrated ability to manage large, complex, and high‑impact projects in a fast‑paced, multi‑stakeholder environment. Proficient in project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, or similar, and Microsoft Office Suite. In‑depth knowledge of project planning, budgeting, scheduling, risk assessment, and regulatory compliance. Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage diverse teams and influence stakeholders at all levels. Experience managing project financials, contracts, and vendor relationships. Ability to travel to job sites and regional offices as needed. Self‑directed, highly organized, and capable of managing competing priorities in a matrixed or decentralized organization. Preferred Qualifications State of Florida Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) OR State of Florida Registered Architect (AIA) OR State of Florida Licensed Building Official Travel Requirements This position does not require regular travel as part of its primary responsibilities. However, occasional travel may be required, up to 10%, primarily for off‑site meetings, training sessions, or company events. Travel, when necessary, will be communicated in advance and aligned with business needs. Physical Demands & Work Environment This position primarily operates in a professional office environment, requiring the ability to work at a desk for extended periods while using a computer, phone, and standard office equipment. The position involves sitting for extended periods, performing data entry, and engaging in frequent communication via email, phone, and in‑person interactions. The role involves regular communication with team members, clients, and stakeholders, both in person and through virtual platforms. The physical demands of the job may include occasional standing, walking, bending, and lifting of office materials up to 15 pounds.
