Restaurant General Manager

Location: Brooklyn, NY

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Restaurant General Manager to lead daily operations of a high-volume restaurant in Brooklyn. This individual will be responsible for driving operational excellence, developing a strong management team, delivering an exceptional guest experience, and ensuring the restaurant consistently meets financial and performance goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all front-of-house and back-of-house restaurant operations, ensuring smooth and efficient daily service.
• Lead, coach, and develop managers and hourly team members to build a strong, accountable team.
• Maintain high standards for food quality, service, cleanliness, safety, and overall guest experience.
• Manage staffing, scheduling, labor costs, inventory, ordering, and operational expenses.
• Analyze sales, labor, food cost, and other financial metrics to maximize profitability.
• Take ownership of the restaurant’s P&L and implement action plans to achieve financial targets.
• Recruit, train, onboard, and retain top-performing employees and managers.
• Create a positive, professional, and team-oriented work environment.
• Handle guest concerns and ensure prompt and effective resolution of service issues.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, sanitation, and company standards.
• Conduct regular meetings, training sessions, and performance reviews with the management team.
• Maintain strong communication between the kitchen and front-of-house teams.
• Lead by example with a visible, hands-on management style.
• Support local marketing, community engagement, and initiatives designed to increase sales and guest loyalty.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a Restaurant General Manager or senior restaurant manager.
• Strong background in full-service, high-volume, or upscale restaurant operations preferred.
• Proven ability to lead and develop a large team.
• Strong understanding of P&L management, labor control, food cost, and inventory.
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to remain calm and effective in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong guest-service mindset with a commitment to hospitality excellence.
• Must be comfortable working a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
