Checking dates of last procedure performed.Perform routine and complex breast imaging and examination procedures on patients of every age following departmental guidelines. This may include ultrasound imaging of the breast.Positions patient, explains procedure, and provides patient education.Assumes care for physical and psychological needs of patients during procedure.Selects technical factors and imaging modeImmobilizes patients as necessaryPractices radiation protectionEvaluates images for technical quality and prepares for physician interpretationPractices aseptic technique and/or universal precautionsPrepares and administers contrast media as applicable to procedureAssist physicians with stereo-tactic guided proceduresOperates equipment and monitors function of equipment. Recognizes malfunctions and needs for servicing. Takes appropriate steps to report those needs. Assists physician with imaging procedureProperly cleans equipment after each examAssumes responsibility for assigned area.Demonstrates basic knowledge of life support equipment (crash cart, oxygen, suction, etc.)Performs clerical duties as requiredIn the absence of the QC techs, performs mammographic quality control tests in accordance with ACR and FDA.Completes mammography repeat analysisVerifies all previous mammography images are available prior to radiologist dictationMaintains mammography continuing education credits as required by mammography accrediting agency(ies)Qualifications:Current ARRT certification, SCRQSA license and Mammography certification required. Must be able to operate radiographic equipment and produce quality images; follow oral and written instructions; communicate with patients, visitors and employees.
