Responsibilities Operate long haul commercial trucks to transport meat and food products across regional and national routes Ensure safe and timely delivery of perishable freight in compliance with DOT regulations Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and maintain accurate driver logs (ELD) Maintain proper temperature controls and cold chain integrity for refrigerated loads Communicate proactively with dispatch regarding route updates, delays, or issues Maintain a clean driving record and adhere to all federal and state transportation laws Requirements Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A) required Minimum 1-2 years of verifiable long haul or OTR driving experience Clean MVR and satisfactory background check Experience operating refrigerated (reefer) trailers preferred Familiarity with ELD systems and DOT Hours of Service regulations Strong time management skills and a self-motivated, dependable work ethic About Us Dale T Smith & Sons Meat Packing Inc. is a trusted, family-owned meat packing company based in North Salt Lake City, UT, with a long-standing reputation for quality products and reliable service.
