Program Facilitator - Part Time

The Program Facilitator is a part-time, 20-25 hours per week, position that reports to the Director of Programs and provides support to the Assistant Director of Community Programs. The Program Facilitator supports Peter’s Place programming both onsite and throughout the community. The Program Facilitator’s primary responsibilities include: Facilitating in-school and onsite peer support groups for grieving children ages 4 through 18, employing the Peter’s Place child-centered model of peer support. Attend weekly clinical and task supervision with the Director of Programs (45-60 minutes per week) Build new and support existing partnerships through communication, networking and in person opportunities Responsible for the development of curriculum and activities for school-based groups Develop and present professional development and continuing education sessions for schools, community organizations and mental health professionals. Utilizing existing program materials and assisting in the development of new materials as needed based on target audience; Along with Director of Programs, maintain State of PA approved provider and ACT 48 licenses. Assisting Director of Programs and working with the Marketing & Communications Manager in the development of marketing materials and strategies to market offsite programs, specifically targeting schools, counseling centers, social service agencies, and other organizations that Peter’s Place might serve; Meeting goals as set collaboratively with Director of Programs; Attending twice monthly Peter’s Place staff meetings; Providing administrative support to offsite and onsite programs; Maintaining accurate records for groups and for mileage and expenses; Attending the Peter’s Place Volunteer Facilitator Training during the orientation as a trainee; Maintain license with the completion of continuing education requirements, Utilize current trends, clinical research, and evolving best practices in bereavement and loss into program development. Position Requirements and Qualifications Master’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or related field. At least one year of experience working in the field of bereavement and/or excellent working knowledge of key issues for bereaved children and adults, and familiarity with current literature on the topic. Experience working with children, families, and collateral support such as teachers and school counselors. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively and respectfully with diverse audiences. Cultural competence in working with children and adults of different races, classes, genders, ethnicities, nationalities, sexual orientations, and socioeconomic, cultural, and spiritual backgrounds. Commitment to the philosophy, mission, values, and purpose of Peter’s Place. Strong organizational and record keeping abilities. Primarily a remote position with mandatory 1 day in-person in Radnor office and as needed for other necessary meetings, program preparation, supervision, etc. Access to a car and willingness to travel locally (Delaware, Chester, Montgomery, Philadelphia and Bucks counties in Pennsylvania and Camden County in New Jersey). Available during school hours when programs and supervision can conveniently be scheduled Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Bi-lingual (Spanish) capability (reading, writing and speaking) and cultural competence around Latino/Hispanic culture a plus but not required.
