Job Summary:
This Registered Nurse (RN) position in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is located in Birmingham, Alabama. The role involves providing specialized care for post-cardiac surgery patients within a comprehensive healthcare facility. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day. The position requires a minimum of two years of experience in cardiac or cardiovascular surgery.

Job Details:

• Location: Birmingham, AL
• Unit: Cardiovascular Post-Surgical Care
• Number of Openings: 1
• Shift: Nights, 12 hours per shift, scheduled on a 3x12 rotation, with a minimum of 36 hours guaranteed per week
• Required Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and NIH Stroke Scale certification (all from the American Heart Association)
• Qualifications: Valid nursing license required; minimum 2 years of experience in cardiac or cardiovascular surgery; location in Alabama preferred
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in cardiac/cardiovascular surgery setting, proficiency with Cerner electronic medical record system
• Additional Information: The nurse will care for post-cardiac surgery patients in a unit equipped with GE monitors. Adaptability to working in an ICU environment with cardiac focus is essential. No float rotation is specified for this role.
