Join an established Cardiology service in Fort Smith, Arkansas, providing Interventional Cardiology call coverage on an ongoing basis. The facility is seeking providers who can cover approximately 5 days per month, Monday through Friday.

The position is 100% in-house call and includes STEMI coverage. Providers will be responsible for inpatient Cardiology needs and emergency/STEMI cases, with hospitalists managing routine admissions.

The facility is open to multiple providers sharing the coverage.

Clinical Details & Responsibilities

Practice Setting: Hospital

Inpatient

Clinical Responsibilities:

• Provide 24-hour in-house Interventional Cardiology call coverage
• Evaluate and manage inpatient Cardiology patients
• Respond to emergency Cardiology cases
• Provide STEMI coverage
• Manage STEMI admissions
• Perform appropriate interventional Cardiology procedures as clinically indicated
• Provide care for assigned and unassigned patients
• Coordinate care with the hospitalist service
• Respond to urgent inpatient needs within required response times
• Document patient care using EPIC
• No routine patient call backs

Patient Volume

• Approximately 2025 patients during a 24-hour call
• Average patient volume approximately 1520
• Volume may vary depending on daily clinical demand

Admissions

Routine admissions are handled by the hospitalist service.

The Interventional Cardiologist is responsible for admissions related to STEMI cases.

Support & Team

The Interventional Cardiologist will work alongside the established hospital team. The hospitalist service manages routine admissions, allowing the Cardiologist to focus on Interventional Cardiology, STEMI, and urgent Cardiology needs.

The facility will accept multiple providers to share the ongoing coverage requirement.

Requirements

• Board Certified Interventional Cardiology Required
• Active Arkansas License Required
• ACLS Required
• ATLS Required
• BLS Required
• Ability to provide 100% in-house call
• Ability to respond to in-house needs within 1 hour
• Ability to respond to emergency/STEMI cases in less than 30 minutes
• Ability to manage STEMI admissions
• Ability to provide Interventional Cardiology call coverage

Credentialing

An active Arkansas medical license is required.

Board Certification in Interventional Cardiology is required.
