Quality Assurance AnalystThe Connecticut Department of Social Services (DSS) is seeking an experienced QA Test Analyst with expertise in both manual and automation testing. This role supports mission-critical enterprise applications delivering essential services to Connecticut residents. The successful candidate will collaborate with business stakeholders, developers, solution architects, and technical teams to ensure applications meet business requirements, technical specifications, State policies, and federal regulations.This position requires manual testing, automation testing, API validation, backend data verification, and end-to-end business process testing across multiple platforms, including Salesforce, Java-based applications, Mobile/PWA, and integrated services.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform hands-on manual and automated testing across multiple enterprise applications.Develop comprehensive test scenarios, test cases, and automated test scripts based on business/technical requirements.Review business requirements, user stories, and design documents to identify testing needs.Participate in requirements walkthroughs, sprint planning, backlog refinement, and design reviews.Execute functional, regression, integration, system, API, and end-to-end testing activities.Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts using approved frameworks.Validate interfaces and integrations between enterprise applications and external systems.Perform backend database validation using SQL queries and execute API testing using standard tools.Identify, document, prioritize, and manage software defects through resolution via Jira.Ensure complete traceability between business requirements and executed tests via a Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM).Support production implementations by performing release validation and post-production verification.Required Qualifications5+ years of Quality Assurance experience testing large enterprise applications.Strong experience working throughout the SDLC with both manual and automation testing.Ability to interpret business requirements and convert them into detailed test cases.Strong working knowledge of Agile/Scrum development environments and Jira for defect tracking.Technical & Testing ExpertiseAutomation & Tools: Selenium, TestNG, Java, Postman, Git.API & Web Services: REST API Testing, SOAP Web Services, JSON/XML validation.Database: SQL for backend data validation.Platforms & Concepts: Salesforce application testing, Mobile Application Testing, Progressive Web Applications (PWA), CI/CD concepts.Testing Methodologies: Functional, Regression, Integration, SIT, UAT, Smoke, Cross-browser, End-to-End, and Defect Lifecycle Management.Preferred Industry ExperienceStrong preference for experience supporting Connecticut DSS or other State Government agencies.Human Services (HHS), Medicaid, Medicare, or Medicaid Eligibility.Eligibility and Benefits Management Systems / Integrated Eligibility Systems (IES).SNAP, TANF, Child Care Programs, Healthcare Exchange, and Medicaid Waiver Programs.Familiarity with policy-driven enterprise applications and healthcare terminology.
