Acute Care NP / PA Hospitalist

Location:Oncology Consultants - WillowbrookPay Range:$80,000.00 - $170,000.00Position Summary:Assists physician in the care and teaching of patients.Key Performance Areas:KPA 1 – Inpatient supportConduct hospital rounds.Assist with admissions and discharges.Provide on-call support.KPA 2 – AssessmentAssess the physical and mental condition of patients by performing and obtaining a comprehensive or problem-focused physical examinations and medical histories.Orders, collects, interprets, and evaluates laboratory and other diagnostic tests to assess patient problems and health care needs.Prescribe medications and make recommendations for other therapeutic forms of treatment.Refer patient to appropriate sources of care as clinically indicated.KPA 3 – DocumentationAbility to counsel patients concerning medical and psychological/psychiatric conditions, treatment plans, and behavior modification.Maintain appropriate records detailing the patient’s treatment plans and outcomes.Initiates timely consultation and referral when the problem exceeds the scope of practice and /or expertise.Capture charges in a timely manner.KPA 4 – CommunicationEffectively communicate with admitting and referring team.Triage and respond to all forms of communication in a timely manner.Performs other duties and projects as assigned.Position Qualifications/Requirements:Education:Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician’s Assistant programMaster’s degree requiredCertifications/Licenses:APRN or PA license in appropriate statePrescriptive privileges or eligible to applyMaintain Board CertificationCurrent BLSPrevious Experience:Minimum 5 years experience as APRN or PA, Oncology requiredCore Capabilities:Analysis & Critical Thinking: Critical thinking skills including solid problem-solving, analysis, decision-making, planning, time management, and organizational skills. Second language is an asset but not required.
