Unlike a traditional Controller position, you'll partner directly with CEOs and executive teams to provide financial leadership, strategic insight, and trusted guidance. Position Summary As a Controller, you will serve as the primary financial advisor for assigned credit unions. You'll oversee financial reporting, budgeting, investments, liquidity management, while partnering with leadership to support strategic decision-making. Success in this role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, excellent communication, and a commitment to exceptional client service. Responsibilities Manage cash flow, liquidity, and funding strategies. Oversee investment portfolios in accordance with policy and regulatory requirements. Prepare and review monthly financial statements, Board reports, budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses. Analyze financial performance and recommend improvements. Prepare Call Reports and other required regulatory reporting. Partner with CEOs and executive teams on strategic financial initiatives. Mentor and support MiCUSO accounting staff. Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and efficiencies. Perform other responsibilities consistent with the Controller role. Build lasting client relationships while making a measurable impact. Qualifications Five or more years of progressive accounting, finance, or Controller experience. Credit union, banking, or financial institution experience preferred. Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, liquidity management, and investments. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered.
