Location: MetroHealth Main Campus- Glick Bi-weekly Hours: 72.00 Shift: 7a-7p/ 7p-7a; Rotating Weekends & Holidays For nearly two centuries, the MetroHealth System's mission has been focused on delivering high-quality patient-centered care to all communities in Northeast Ohio. All Critical Care units offer enhanced technology to assist with nursing care, including patient lifts, hands-free communication, virtual whiteboards, and continuous telemetry monitoring. Join our Critical Care Step Down Unit, 7 West! Primary Patient Population:

• Congestive Heart Failure
• COPD
• DKA
• Sepsis

Primary skills utilized/learned:

• Assisting patients with all aspects of personal hygiene, eating & drinking
• Answering call lights & taking vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, height, weight, and other parameters as instructed).
• Performing/transmitting basic ECG and phlebotomy.

Personnel PCNA will work with:

• Registered Nurses, Nurse Interns, Providers, PT, OT

Number of beds on unit:

• 14 inpatient beds

• High School Diploma or passage of a high school equivalency exam.
• Ability to work in a team environment while demonstrating good judgment, flexibility, initiative, and effectively problem-solving skills.
• Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Registered in good standing as a State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) with the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) Nurse Aide Registry (NOTE: Maintaining ODH Registry status as an STNA is optional after employment in this position).
• 1 year of experience as a Patient Care Nurse Assistant in a hospital.
