Why Our Veterinary Technicians Love It Here Predictable schedules and actual lunch breaks Scheduling flexibility that supports a healthy work-life balance Rotating Saturday shifts, so you aren’t working every weekend A positive, supportive team built on teamwork and mutual respect A culture where you can show up as your awesome self A real commitment to professional growth: grow and learn, then learn and grow some more Continuing education and professional development opportunities The chance to use your veterinary technician skills to better your community Benefits that strengthen both body and mind What Our Veterinary Technicians Do Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to every patient Work closely with our veterinarians and anticipate their needs to keep appointments and procedures running efficiently Obtain patient histories, TPRs, and weights, and share relevant findings with the veterinarian Safely handle and restrain patients using low-stress techniques Perform venipuncture, place IV catheters, and collect diagnostic samples Run in-house laboratory tests, including bloodwork, urinalysis, fecal exams, and cytology prep Take and assist with radiographs Administer medications, vaccines, fluids, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian Prepare patients for surgery and support anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery Assist with dental cleanings and dental radiographs Monitor hospitalized patients and report changes or concerns right away Fill prescriptions accurately and explain medication instructions to clients Listen to clients (including why their dog or cat is the best one that has ever lived) and communicate clearly about their pet’s care Educate clients about treatments, preventive care, and their pet’s ongoing health needs Maintain accurate, thorough medical records Clean, sterilize, and maintain surgical instruments and equipment Keep treatment areas, exam rooms, and equipment clean, stocked, and ready to go Support your teammates with a positive, collaborative approach Keep learning and growing your veterinary technician skills What You’ll Bring Experience as a veterinary technician (vet tech) in a small animal practice Veterinary technician licensure is welcome but not required Confident venipuncture and IV catheter placement skills Experience with anesthesia monitoring and surgical patient care Proficiency with in-house laboratory procedures and diagnostic sample handling Experience taking radiographs, and dental experience is a plus Strong animal handling and restraint skills, with a low-stress approach Knowledge of medication calculations and administration Excellent client communication and education skills Accurate, detailed medical record-keeping The ability to anticipate needs and work efficiently in a busy practice A positive, team-first attitude grounded in teamwork and mutual respect Eagerness to keep learning and growing Availability for rotating Saturday shifts A passion for pets and veterinary care that shines through every day Benefits You Can’t Beat Financial Benefits A flexible approach to compensation that reflects your skill set and future performance 401(k) matching & Roth Retirement Savings Plan Flexible Spending Account (full-time only) 529 Savings Plan Tuition Support Program Referral bonus program Wellness Benefits Health insurance, including medical, dental, and vision (full-time only) Supplemental insurance, including accident, critical illness, hospital, short- and long-term disability, legal plan, and employee, spouse, and child-dependent life insurance (full-time only) Up to three weeks of full pay for the birth or adoption of a child (full-time employees only; available after one year of service).
