About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience required License: NY license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS Must-Have: Mandatory competency with phlebotomy and IV placement required. Float required when census warrants. Every other weekend required. Description: Position is for an Emergency Room Registered Nurse with alternating shifts from 07:00 to 19:00 and 11:00 to 23:00. Requires a minimum of 1 year of ER experience. First-time travelers accepted. Certifications required include BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS. Expected patient ratios are 1:5 with mixed/shared acuity levels. General emergency department experience is essential, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, blood product administration, central line care, and procedural sedation administration. RNs will manage patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, starting and maintaining IVs, and responding to emergencies. Experience with Epic charting preferred. Daily census is around 64 with approximately 145 visits per day. Facility includes a variety of patient age groups, from neonates to geriatrics. Interdisciplinary support is available including various therapy services, social services, and pharmacy. Patient diagnoses vary widely, requiring a comprehensive skill set.
