The 14-bed Neuro ICU is committed to the care of patients with neurological illnesses. This unit operates 24 hours a day, with continuous coverage by specialized medical professionals. The ICU provides care for adult, geriatric, and pediatric patients. Common patient diagnoses include post-operative care from neurosurgical procedures, traumatic brain injuries, strokes, intracerebral hemorrhages, and neuromuscular illnesses. The unit also offers overflow care for medical, surgical, and cardiac ICU patients. Responsibilities include coordinating clinical care and ensuring high-quality outcomes for patients and their families. Key tasks involve establishing care plans, providing patient education, managing utilization, and planning for discharges. Physical demands include lifting, standing, walking, and managing various tasks under potentially stressful conditions. Working conditions may involve exposure to body fluids and communicable diseases. The environment can be fast-paced and requires effective management of confused or combative patients. Candidates should possess strong English communication skills. Minimum qualifications include the ability to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively. Prior ICU RN experience is required, preferably within the last three years.
