Title
Medical Assistant - Outpatient Orthopedics

Requirements
- Minimum 1 year outpatient clinic experience
- Medical Assistant diploma from a DAPIP-accredited program
- High School diploma or GED
- BLS certification (AHA or ARC only)

Roles & Responsibilities
- Room patients and measure vital signs, including pulse oximetry, height, and weight
- Provide orthopedic support, such as casting, suture removal, and wound care/dressing changes
- Conduct phlebotomy and label specimens
- Verify insurance and manage authorization forms
- Handle telephone triage, follow-up calls, and pharmacy refill requests
- Document patient history, medications, and allergies in the electronic health record system

Compliance / Notes
- Orientation: 40 hours
- Locals only (within a 50-minute commute)
- References: 2 supervisor-level references from within the past 12 months required at submission
- Background/license hits: Any open or past hits require a detailed written statement and must be fully closed before submission
