Dental Assistant

Position Summary

The Dental Assistant (DA) provides chairside support to dentists and clinical teams in the delivery of high-quality dental care, including dentures, dental implants, prosthetics, extractions, and oral surgery procedures . This role is responsible for assisting with patient treatment, taking dental impressions, performing radiographs, sterilization, patient education, and ensuring an exceptional patient experience.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Support

• Assist dentists during dental implant, denture, oral surgery, and restorative procedures

• Provide chairside assistance during patient exams and treatment

• Take and process dental X-rays (where permitted by state regulations)

• Assist with dental impressions, wax bites, and prosthetic procedures

• Support denture fittings, adjustments, and insertions under dentist supervision

• Prepare treatment rooms and instruments before procedures

• Maintain proper infection control and sterilization protocols

Patient Care

• Deliver exceptional customer service and patient support

• Educate patients on treatment options, denture solutions, aftercare instructions, and pricing

• Review patient information and maintain accurate clinical records

• Escort patients through treatment and checkout processes

• Support positive patient experiences throughout their care journey

Office & Operational Support

• Open and prepare the office for daily operations

• Maintain clean and organized operatories and workspaces

• Manage clinical inventory and order supplies as needed

• Complete required documentation accurately and timely

• Participate in training, continuing education, and team development initiatives

Qualifications

Required

• Active Dental Assistant (DA) certification (if required by state)

• Active Dental X-Ray Certification (where required)

• High School Diploma or GED

• Knowledge of dental terminology, infection control, and chairside assisting procedures

Preferred

• 1+ year of Dental Assistant experience

• Experience with dentures, dental implants, oral surgery, prosthodontics, or extractions

• Experience taking dental impressions

• Familiarity with digital radiography and dental software systems
