Special Education Paraprofessional

Salary: In accordance to the Teamsters Contract 2026/2027 hourly rate range $20.22 - $25.13 Period of Employment: Full Time School Year 33.75 hours per week Reports to: Building Administrator/Special Services Director

Performance Responsibilities:

• Assist students with instruction under the direction of a special education teacher.
• Assist teacher staff in the implementation of an Individualized Education Plan (IEP)
• May need to assist with transitioning students to and/or from buses; when necessary, physically assist students out of or into vehicles of transportation.
• May need to assist students with specific physical or behavioral needs through transitions within the classroom or school.
• Other duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications:

• Candidate should hold an Associate's degree or 2 years of college credit or pass a State Board of Education adopted paraprofessional assessment, which assesses content knowledge in mathematics, reading and writing and an understanding of how to assist in the instruction of these topics.
