Nuclear Med Technologist

Purpose:
Performs nuclear medicine procedures at a technical level requiring limited or no supervision of technical detail. Performs a variety of technical procedures utilizing existing standards as a guide. Demonstrates the ability to utilize independent judgment in the completion of routine exams procedures. Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required in conjunction with a Nuclear Medicine Tech III, or in absence of supervisor and may be assigned station fill position within other areas of the department. Assures compliance to all NRC, state, JCAHO, ODH, DOT and other regulatory bodies through on going review of required documentation and system analysis. Recognizes the purpose of employment is to prioritize the patient as number one, and to put forth the utmost quality as a technologist.


Responsibilities:

• Performs duties pertinent to practice area in Radiology/Nuclear Medicine including the completion of all appropriate patient testing procedures. Demonstrates proficiency in Hot Lab procedures and equipment operation, including CT and Laser localization systems. Completes clinical diagnostic/therapeutic procedures. Provides protection from radiation exposure. Transcribes/implements orders and administers medication. In absence of administrative technologist assumes responsibility for the division.

Qualifications:

• High school graduate. Completion of a formal Radiologic technology training program in an A.M.A. approved school specializing in Nuclear Medicine Technology.
  Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
  Must be registered or present evidence of Registry with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists as a RT-N or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board, as a CNMT. Must possess current Ohio License within area of assignment.BLS provider or obtain within 3 months of hire.
