Hospital Pharmacist - Mesa, Arizona

Job Description

This opportunity is for a skilled pharmacist with hospital experience to provide essential pharmacy services on a travel assignment. The role involves supporting hospital operations by managing medication orders, supervising pharmacy technicians, and collaborating directly with healthcare teams to optimize patient care.

Location: Mesa, AZ
Job Type: Contract
Schedule:

7 days on, 7 days off
Shifts ranging from 10 to 12 hours
Weekdays: 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Weekends: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Key Responsibilities:

Verify medication orders to ensure accuracy and appropriateness
Supervise pharmacy technicians in the hospital setting
Consult with physicians and nurses regarding medication therapies
Apply pharmacokinetic principles in patient care and dosing adjustments
Utilize MedHost electronic medical record (EMR) system daily

Qualifications and Experience:

Valid Arizona pharmacist license
Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) and BLS (Basic Life Support) certifications
Proven hospital pharmacy experience with IV certification and hands-on practice
Ability to work a demanding schedule while maintaining high-quality patient care standards
