This is the sole IT position, reporting to senior leadership and partnering closely on technology, AI, and cybersecurity strategy. No direct reports; leverage comes through service providers and affiliated staff.The role spans the family office, its affiliates, and supported charitable entities — hands-on with vendor direction for smaller entities, monitoring/advisory for larger ones. Candidates should be methodical and process-oriented; the office maintains a stringent security posture the Director is expected to champion. Responsibilities ramp gradually as trust is established.Location: New York, NY (4x/week)Salary: Up to 250k base + bonusResponsibilities:IT OperationsOversee day-to-day technical support from the operations team and vendorsSet Microsoft 365 groups, shares, and permissions via the vendorSet and verify endpoint policies (patching, mobile devices, protection)Provide second-tier support for phones, printers, and conference room techSupport finance operations, including GL systems and custodian data feedsMaintain IT policies, SOPs, and documentationSupervise IT/security service providers (contracts, invoicing, SLAs)Serve as technical liaison with affiliates, brokers, and custodiansIdentify automation/AI opportunitiesInfrastructure & CloudDirect vendor administration of Windows Server/RDS, SQL databases, and M365; verify workMaintain networks; verify backups and recoveryManage domains, DNS, TLS certificatesAdminister AWS/Azure security aligned with CIS/NISTSecure generative AI platforms (access, data handling, governance)Cybersecurity OperationsLead vulnerability management and penetration testingMonitor and respond to security eventsGovern identity/access across AWS and Entra ID; conduct access reviewsManage DLP and data classificationAdminister email security (anti-phishing, DMARC/DKIM/SPF)Maintain/test incident response and BC plans; lead breach responseSupport family members' personal cybersecurity; deliver security trainingAdvise on physical security IT componentsQualifications: xhyhwjd 10+ years progressive IT experience, including infosec and infrastructureWindows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, RDS experienceWorking SQL/relational database knowledgeVulnerability management tools (Tenable, Qualys)Hands-on AWS/Azure security (IAM, logging, monitoring)AWS IAM and Entra ID administration, including conditional accessFamiliarity securing enterprise generative AI servicesManaging IT vendors and third-party pen testingNIST CSF, CIS Controls, ISO 27001, or SOC 2 knowledgeAbility to help shape AI/cybersecurity strategyStrong communication with non-technical stakeholdersPreferred:Financial services or family office experienceBachelor's preferred; CISSP/CCSP
