Associate Linux Engineer, Technology II
AbbVie
AbbVie seeks an early-career Linux engineer to support enterprise infrastructure for pharmaceutical R&D. The role involves collaborating with senior engineers on system operations, automation, and cloud deployments while contributing to drug discovery digital transformation initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Support Linux operations, maintenance, monitoring, and issue resolution under senior guidance
- Assist with OS patching, software updates, certificate management, and configuration changes
- Use Ansible and configuration-management tools to develop automation and maintain workflows
- Troubleshoot Linux systems and infrastructure, document findings, and escalate recurring issues
- Contribute to testing, documentation, and verification of infrastructure changes across environments
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with 2 years relevant experience, or Master's degree
- Foundational experience with enterprise Linux distributions (Ubuntu, CentOS, Rocky, RHEL)
- Knowledge of Linux administration including patching, software updates, and troubleshooting
- Basic understanding of enterprise infrastructure, servers, storage, networking, and virtualization
- Ability to review logs and monitoring data to identify issues and support root-cause analysis
- Clear technical writing and documentation skills with security and operational awareness
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities
