Position Title: Physician (Family Medicine) - Fort Riley, KS

About the Role:
This opportunity is situated at Fort Riley, Kansas.

This is a Direct Hire Solicitation. Candidates who are entering Federal service may have the chance to negotiate their salary. Federal civilian healthcare providers are not required to carry medical malpractice liability insurance, as they are protected under the Federal Tort Claims Act (28 U.S.C. § 1346(b)) while performing their job duties.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to hospital policies and regulations, ensuring patient access to appropriate medical care and referrals to other healthcare providers.
• Deliver direct patient care within a Medical Treatment Facility.
• Provide consultative opinions to fellow physicians and healthcare personnel, supervising care provided by non-physicians.
• Maintain health and clinical records in compliance with current regulations and standards.
• Determine when to seek advice and guidance.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Eligibility: Open to U.S. Citizens

To qualify, candidates must meet the educational and experiential criteria outlined below. Experience encompasses both paid and unpaid roles, including volunteer work through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). All qualifying experience, including volunteer work, will be credited. Your resume must clearly outline your relevant experience; if qualifying through education, transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Basic Requirements for Physician (Family Practice):

• Degree: A Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, or equivalent from an accredited institution in the United States or Canada. This degree must have been accredited by recognized bodies such as the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association or the Liaison Committee on Medical Education. For foreign medical degrees, equivalency must be demonstrated through certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates or successful completion of the U.S. Medical Licensing Examination.
• Licensure: Candidates must hold a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physician from a U.S. state, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a U.S. territory.
• Graduate Training: After obtaining a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree, candidates must have at least one year of supervised clinical experience, such as a one-year internship or the first year of a residency program in an accredited institution.

In addition to the basic requirements, candidates must also fulfill the following qualification criteria:

• Residency Training: Applicants must have successfully completed accredited residency training in Family Medicine or possess equivalent experience and training totaling at least four years. Experience cannot substitute for the required residency training for this specialty.
