Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: MS/Tele Float Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 12-Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years License: WA License Required or Compact License Certifications: BLS, ACLS; NIHSS preferred but not required Must-Have: - Nurse aides typically present per shift Description: This position involves working in a dynamic MS/Tele nursing float role with a focus on telemetry care. The unit has a total of 32 beds and a nurse-to-patient ratio of 5:1, which may adjust to 6:1 in certain circumstances. Nurses are responsible for reviewing telemetry strips and managing various IV drips including Heparin, Cardizem, Insulin, and Narcotics. There is no requirement for ventilator management. Nursing staff will have the support of an in-house hospitalist or intensivist as well as a dedicated cross-shift IV team available for assistance. Respiratory therapy and pharmacy services are available 24/7. Floating among Med Surg/PCU and ED boarding units may be required. Floor specific orientation will be provided, as the unit caters to patients with common diagnoses such as CHF, COPD, cellulitis, alcohol withdrawal, kidney disorders, dementia, and CVA. Close observation is provided through camera monitoring for patient safety. Weekend and holiday coverage is expected based on unit needs.
