RN – Inpatient Hospice | Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate end-of-life nursing care to hospice patients in an inpatient hospice facility.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized hospice care plans.
• Manage pain and other physical, emotional, and psychosocial symptoms to maximize patient comfort.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and other treatments in accordance with physician orders and hospice protocols.
• Monitor changes in patient condition and coordinate care with physicians and the interdisciplinary hospice team.
• Educate patients and families on disease progression, symptom management, medications, and end-of-life care.
• Provide emotional support and collaborate with social workers, counselors, chaplains, hospice aides, and volunteers.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure compliance with hospice regulations and facility policies.
• Participate in discharge planning, respite care, and bereavement support services when appropriate.
• Promote dignity, comfort, and quality of life throughout the hospice journey.

Required Documents / Certifications

• Active Oregon RN License
• BLS (Healthcare Provider)
• Inpatient Hospice or Home Health Hospice experience (preferred)
• Case Management experience (preferred)
• Broad-based nursing experience in acute or skilled care settings (preferred)
• BSN (preferred)
