Member Service Representative

Position Summary: Serves as the primary contact of our organization to serve member requests related to their daily financial needs. The Member Service Representative will perform a wide variety of duties related to all phases of products, services and policies embodied by Westby Co-op Credit Union, in accordance with Westby Co-op Credit Union procedures. Principal Duties and Responsibilities Maintain comments and notes on accounts, handle currency, basic deposits, withdrawals, payments, issuance of negotiable instruments and cash advances. Adhere to all balancing, cash, check‑cashing and related policies or procedures. Execute check negotiation procedures for regular, foreign and onus checks. Perform inquiries and generate statements for members. Comply with Bank Secrecy Act legislation and requirements. Process requests for member check orders. Provide a helpful, polite, friendly attitude and exceptional member service. Educate members on products, services, fees, and policies. Maintain confidentiality and a neat work area. Collaborate with others to maintain, organize, and revise member financial information. Enter information into computer programs for transactions, holds, statements, order requests, and other related transactions. Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of products, services, fees, and regulations. Scan account information into the computer system. Prepare gift cards, redeem savings bonds, complete and maintain stop payment requests. Prepare counter checks, cashier checks and corporate checks. Assist members with safe deposit box access and initial wire transaction requests. Help members with fraud situations (debit cards, credit cards, ACH, checks). Maintain address and name changes on software programs. Maintain ATM machine in designated office. Add additional share accounts to existing membership accounts. Mobile Branch Responsibilities Provide coverage as needed; occasional weekday, evening and Saturday rotations may be scheduled in advance for special community events. Work Relationships and Scope Reports directly to the Branch Manager; will have regular contact with members and employees of the Member Service Department. Qualifications Education/Experience: Previous financial and cash handling experience desired; financial post‑secondary education preferred. Skills and Abilities Perform basic mathematical calculations accurately. Manage personal workflow, process transactions, and meet deadlines with organization and detail orientation. Work with a wide range of personalities in a courteous, effective, and efficient manner. Apply current financial service industry standards, laws, and regulations. Present ideas, report facts, and other information clearly and concisely. Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Proficient operation of general office equipment such as computer, software applications, typewriter, calculator, telephone, copy machine, fax machine, and devices or programs related to the position. #J-18808-Ljbffr WCCU Credit Union
