The ESC Incident Support Team (IST) Access and Functional Needs (AFN) Coordinator position supports the IC structure, which is utilized to respond to emergencies and disasters within California. Under the direction of the Chief of OAFN and SOC Director, the IST AFN Coordinator will conduct research, analyze, and provide guidance integrating effective communication methods, disability elements, and other AFN specific practices and resources into emergency management systems. This position will coordinate with local jurisdictions during activations to ensure all response efforts comply with Cal OES best practice guidance, federal, and state laws in support of older adults, individuals with disabilities, and anyone with access or functional needs. Duty Statement Working Conditions In Office: This position supports and manages the day-to-day business operations for Cal OES which is handled in an office location. This is not considered a hybrid telework position. DMV Pull Program Participation in the DMV Pull Program is required. The position(s) require(s) a valid Driver’s License (DL). You must answer the questions addressing your DL on your application. Ensure you provide your DL number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements and/or restrictions. Conflict of Interest (COI) This position is designated under the Conflict of Interest Code and is required to complete Form 700 within 30 days of appointment. Failure to complete the Conflict of Interest Code requirements may void the appointment.
