Advanced Communication Specialist - EMS Dispatch

Overview: Join a dedicated team as an Advanced Communication Specialist focused on patient access and flow within a dynamic healthcare environment in the Southeastern United States. This role involves collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to facilitate seamless communication between patients, physicians, and nurses, ensuring timely resource allocation and patient transfers.

Key Responsibilities: Coordinate physician-to-physician communication for patient transfers, manage resource allocation for air and ground ambulance services, and support the efficient movement of patients throughout the healthcare system. Maintain calm and professionalism under high-pressure situations while adhering to established protocols.

Education & Certifications: Current and valid EMT certification or equivalent (such as Nursing Assistant, Military Medic, or Certified Medical Assistant) is preferred. Completion of NIMS 100, 200, and 700 courses within 90 days of hire is required.

Experience & Skills: Prior experience in EMS, EMS dispatch, medical terminology, and air medical operations is highly desirable. Familiarity with emergency medical procedures, pre-hospital care equipment, and communications technology is essential. Proficiency with EPIC, Advance Dispatch, Microsoft Office Suite, and Outlook is strongly preferred. Typing speed of at least 40 words per minute, clear hearing and speech, and visual acuity correctable to 20/40 are necessary. Manual dexterity for keyboard use and the ability to sit for extended periods are also required.
