• Assume responsibility for a group of patients for a designated time frame, utilizing nursing processes, trends, and technology.
• Perform all responsibilities and duties as required by the unit, specific to the scope of service.
• Implement procedures and theories related to the specific area of practice.
• Maintain up-to-date documentation of care to ensure information integration for the healthcare team.
• Complete initial assessment upon patient admission and develop an appropriate plan of care based on patient and family needs.
• Implement and modify plans of care, nursing interventions, and procedures based on continuous evaluation.
• Ensure patient and employee safety by addressing and reporting safety hazards and incidents.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues and patients to resolve issues and promote a healthy work environment.
• Offer constructive feedback for peer professional development and collaborate to expand knowledge.
• Identify personal learning needs and proactively seek solutions.
• Meet all departmental competency requirements.

Emergency Department Specific Functions:

• Implement procedures and theories specific to ED nursing.
• Perform patient assessment and develop care plans in collaboration with providers, family, and patient.
• Execute plans of care and nursing interventions.
• Modify care plans based on continuous assessment.
• Ensure patient and staff safety through adherence to safety standards, reporting, and correcting hazards.
• Effectively communicate and collaborate with staff, visitors, and families to promote a healing work environment.
• Provide feedback to peers to aid professional development and enhance problem-solving skills.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
