Director, Retail Media - Business Operations & Self Service

Job Description:We are looking for a detail-oriented, strategic, and technically minded Director for our Retail Media Operations team to lead business and self-service operations of a retail media network. This position acts as a subject matter expert for internal stakeholders and client partners and serves as a key point of contact for cross-functional disciplines (Strategy, Creative, Media, Analytics, etc). They’re responsible for the development and management of frameworks to steer and monitor self-service program progress and success. · You will report to the Group Director, Retail Media.Key ResponsibilitiesLead day-to-day self-service retail media operations, including:Designing and championing innovative self-service strategies and campaigns that deliver against the client’s goals and drive accountable business resultsOverseeing all aspects of self-service campaign execution, optimization, and delivery of campaignsTroubleshooting operational issues and escalating complex problems appropriatelyMaintaining documentation and operational standardsLead self-service implementation, including:Coordinating with technology vendors, internal stakeholders, and end-users on tool rolloutsTesting and validating new tools before team-wide implementationCreating and maintaining training documentation and process guides for new toolsEnsure accuracy and compliance in retail media operations, including:Monitoring campaign setup and delivery against operational standardsConducting quality assurance checks on campaign details, audiences, and assetsEnsuring compliance with platform requirements and client specificationsTracking and reporting on operational KPIs and metricsCollaborate across teams to drive operational excellence, including:Working with planning, execution, and analytics teams to support operational needsParticipating in cross-functional discussions on operational improvementsSupporting the development of operational playbooks and standardsGathering feedback from teams to inform operational enhancementsDemonstrate strong communication and organizational skills, keeping stakeholders informed on operational issues, tool implementations, and process updatesQualifications-7+ years of experience in digital media strategy, digital media agency and/or media vendor/ad technology platform (ideally self-service)-Knowledge of:Self-service media buyingRetail media network platforms (Amazon Ads, Walmart Connect, Target+, Microsoft Advertising)Campaign setup, trafficking, and activation processesRetail media operational workflows and requirements-Demonstrated project management capabilities, with ability to:Manage projects from planning through executionTrack timelines, deliverables, and dependenciesCoordinate across multiple stakeholders-Operational mindset with:Attention to detail and focus on accuracyAbility to manage multiple projects and prioritiesDrive to improve efficiency and eliminate bottlenecks-Understanding of retail media operations, platform requirements, and campaign trafficking best practices-An entrepreneurial spirit, desire to "change the game", a self-starter, and thinks outside of the box-Strong quantitative and analytical skills, including an analytic and fact-based approach to problem-solving-Technical aptitude and willingness to learn new platforms, tools, and systems quickly-Keen troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities, particularly as they relate to retail media operations and technical issues-Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university (or equivalent professional experience)The annual salary range for this position is $99,500 -$145,000.
