Food Scientist – Aurora, CO Location: Aurora, CO Salary: $70,000–$90,000 annually Job Summary Kelly Science & Clinical® is looking for a Food Scientist for a Direct Hire opportunity at a leading organization in Aurora, CO. The role involves leading product development, processes and continuous improvement initiatives in a manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Provide project leadership in development and commercialization of new products, product improvement, and cost savings. Design and execute experiments, analyze data, and make technical recommendations for specific projects. Develop process specifications and ensure accurate knowledge transfer to QA and Operations teams. Support Operations and QA to resolve ingredient, formula, and process issues, and manage product/process changes. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to implement new products, equipment, or processes. Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product development, reduce costs, and expedite speed to market. Act as a liaison between Culinary, Production, Sales, Finance, Quality Assurance, and Supply Chain teams. Translate bench specifications to on‑floor processes for smooth rollouts of new products and equipment. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or Food Engineering with a strong baking science background. 0–5 years of experience (internships or co‑ops with food manufacturers strongly preferred). Experience in new product development, prototyping, and commercialization within a manufacturing environment. Recipe/formulation and raw material knowledge. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), SharePoint, and ERP systems. Self‑directed, responsible for managing your own projects and meeting timelines. Willingness to work off hours or extended time during product scale ups and travel up to 30% as needed.
