Position Overview The Transition Manager supports a growing service desk operation as it undergoes a significant transformation. Serving as an extension of the Program Manager, this role works closely with the customer and internal delivery teams to translate an enterprise consolidation strategy into coordinated, executable plans. The Transition Manager brings a strong understanding of service desk operations, transformation strategy, and organizational change management to help align people, processes, technology, and communications while maintaining continuity of existing services. Key Responsibilities Augment the Program Manager in planning, coordinating, and executing the customer’s service desk consolidation and transformation plan. Work closely with customer stakeholders, senior leadership, and delivery teams to translate strategic objectives into practical implementation activities. Develop and maintain integrated transformation plans, schedules, milestones, dependencies, risks, actions, and decision logs. Coordinate workstreams involving service desk operations, staffing, processes, technology, knowledge, training, communications, and organizational readiness. Assess operational readiness and help sequence transformation activities to support growth while protecting continuity and service quality. Apply service desk operations knowledge to identify impacts to workflows, support models, escalation paths, performance measures, and workforce requirements. Develop and support organizational change management activities, including stakeholder engagement, change impact assessments, communications, training coordination, and adoption planning. Facilitate leadership briefings, planning sessions, readiness reviews, working groups, and decision-making forums. Track progress, identify barriers, and elevate decisions, resource needs, and risks to the Program Manager and appropriate customer stakeholders. Coordinate implementation, cutover, stabilization, and continuous improvement activities across affected teams. Prepare concise executive updates, recommendations, and transformation documentation for senior leadership and program stakeholders. Capture lessons learned and recommend improvements that strengthen future phases of growth and transformation. Required Qualifications Experience supporting service desk operations, service delivery transformation, consolidation, modernization, or large-scale operational change. Strong understanding of service desk operating models, staffing, workflows, performance management, knowledge management, training, and customer experience. Experience applying organizational change management principles to complex business or technology transformations. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with senior leaders, customer stakeholders, operational teams, and cross-functional subject matter experts. Experience developing and managing integrated plans, schedules, risks, dependencies, actions, and executive-level status reporting. Strong facilitation, communication, stakeholder management, problem-solving, and decision-support skills. Ability to coordinate multiple workstreams in a growing operation while maintaining focus on service continuity and measurable outcomes. Preferred Qualification Experience with enterprise or shared-service desk consolidation and transformation initiatives. Experience supporting complex, multi-stakeholder organizations or public-sector customers. Knowledge of IT service management, workforce transition, process improvement, and change adoption practices. PMP, ITIL, Prosci, or another relevant project, service management, or organizational change management certification.
