Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. 10 years of experience as an enterprise architect or equivalent experience in a customer‑facing role. Experience in cloud market insights and cloud computing across applications, infrastructure, storage, platforms, or data. Experience engaging with, and presenting to, technical stakeholders and executive leaders. Preferred qualifications Experience selling technical solutions in one or more of the following: Infrastructure Modernization, Application Modernization, Data Management, Data Analytics, Cloud AI, Networking, Migrations, Security. Experience driving the entire business cycle (e.g., defining the delivery and consumption plan and transitioning it for execution). Experience building long‑term technical strategies to uncover new workloads with customers. Experience migrating applications and services to cloud platforms. As part of the Customer Engineering organization, you will lead cross‑functional teams of experts to help customers design, plan, implement, and govern enterprise cloud strategies. The Principal Architect role is a hybrid technical and business advisor role. In this role you will embody executive‑level qualities, lead the conversation, and guide the execution of the sales team by combining technical objectives with business insight. Responsibilities Build a trusted advisory relationship with strategic accounts and engage with Architects, VP Engineering, CTO, and CIO to identify customer priorities, technical objections, and design strategies encompassing the entire Google ecosystem. Provide domain expertise around public cloud and enterprise technology, and effectively promote Google Cloud with customers, at conferences, and online. Make recommendations on integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms, and application infrastructure required to successfully implement a complete solution while providing best practices to customers to optimize Google Cloud effectiveness. Manage the holistic enterprise architecture relationship with customers by collaborating with specialists, product management, technical teams, and more. Travel to customer sites, conferences, and other related events as required (approx. 50% of the time).
