Senior Analyst, Sovereign Ratings

About the Role Grade Level (for internal use): 11 The position is within S&P Global Ratings’ Sovereign and International Public Finance (IPF) ratings team, working closely with senior analytical leadership and cross‑functional partners to manage high‑profile government and public sector credits. Responsibilities Team Contribution & Capability Building – provide day‑to‑day guidance and coaching to analysts, codify standard work, develop AI‑enabled reusable assets, and partner with Data/Engineering on scalable automation projects. Core Analytical & Delivery – lead end‑to‑end execution for assigned credits, perform surveillance and updates, review inputs and outputs, and support model maintenance to ensure robustness. Stakeholder & Market Engagement – engage external parties, craft client‑ready stories, and translate complex data into clear narratives for senior stakeholders. Risk Management and Operating – ensure adherence to methodology, confidentiality and data governance; embed responsible AI use, establish guardrails for automation, and support testing, rollout and training of AI agents. Compensation and Benefits Base salary range: $100,000USDto $128,000USD, dependent on geographic location, experience level, skill set, training, licenses, and certifications. The role is eligible for an annual incentive plan. Qualifications Practice Nuances Coordinator experience supporting Global, Sovereign & regional IPF AOCC governance and projects. Strong Excel, Word, PowerPoint and database application skills. Ownership and execution maturity across multiple credits with limited oversight. Effective collaboration and relationship management, influencing through credibility. Coaching capability to improve team consistency through shared standards and tools. Continuous improvement mindset with AI fluency and sound judgement. Strong credit, financial and risk analysis skills linking drivers to forward‑looking views. Practical experience embedding AI/LLMs and agents into workflows. Excellent synthesis and concise narrative skills for senior stakeholders. High standards for quality, traceability and governance, with safe AI implementation. Ability to contribute to scalable automation and agent workflows. Professional Experience and Education Typical experience: three to five years of relevant work experience.
