Now hiring for a Buyer (Direct Hire) Location: Putnam, CT Pay: $60,000.00 per year Schedule: 1st Shift | 6:50 AM - 3:00 PM Join a growing manufacturing company in Putnam, CT as a Buyer. This direct hire opportunity is ideal for candidates with purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience who are looking to expand their knowledge and build a long-term career in manufacturing. Manufacturing experience is preferred but not required. Education Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required Associate's or bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Purchasing, or related field preferred Experience Requirements 2-3 years of purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or related experience Experience creating and managing purchase orders ERP/MRP system experience preferred SyteLine experience is a plus Manufacturing experience preferred; plastics industry experience is a plus Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and general business software Job Duties Purchase raw materials, components, and supplies to support manufacturing operations Create, maintain, and track purchase orders Monitor inventory levels, material requirements, and delivery schedules Communicate with suppliers regarding pricing, lead times, availability, and deliveries Follow up on open orders and resolve shortages or delivery delays Maintain accurate supplier, pricing, and purchasing records Collaborate with production, planning, inventory, quality, and other internal departments Assist with supplier sourcing and evaluation activities Review pricing and identify cost-saving opportunities Ensure materials are available to support efficient production schedules Utilize ERP/MRP systems for purchasing and material planning functions Physical Capabilities Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive production tasks throughout the shift. Ability to lift materials, components, or finished products weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to safely operate around production equipment and moving machinery. Ability to maintain productivity while working in fast-paced manufacturing environments.
