Job Title
An employee in this class is responsible for managing and maintaining accurate student data and records in accordance with district and state guidelines. This position serves as the school-based expert on the student information system, ensuring data accuracy, generating reports, supporting school operations, and assisting staff, students, and families with enrollment and data-related processes.
Qualifications
High School Diploma required. Associate's Degree or higher preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Considerable knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
- Knowledge of student information systems and student accounting procedures
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills
- Ability to compile, analyze, and interpret data accurately
- Ability to prepare reports and maintain detailed records
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of student information
- Ability to learn and apply district policies and procedures
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff, students, parents, and the public
- Ability to work independently, exercise judgment, and problem-solve
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Serves as the school expert for the student information system
- Maintains accurate student records including attendance, demographics, scheduling, grading, and enrollment
- Prepares and verifies attendance reports; reconciles discrepancies monthly
- Generates reports for school administration and state reporting requirements
- Assists with beginning- and end-of-year data processes, including promotions and retentions
- Maintains and organizes student records in accordance with state and district guidelines
- Supports school accountability reporting and data submissions
- Assists with master schedule development and related reporting
- Coordinates user access and security within the student information system
- Provides training and support to staff on data systems and processes
- Assists parents and students with registration and enrollment procedures
- Maintains knowledge of current state and district data procedures and requirements
- Attends training sessions and professional development as required
- Performs other duties as assigned
Physical Requirements
Work involves operating standard office equipment and performing tasks consistent with sedentary work. May require lifting up to 10 pounds.
Work Environment
Office setting with frequent interaction with staff, students, parents, and community members.
