Occupational Therapy Assistant

Join as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) In this role, you will work under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist to deliver participant-centered care that promotes independence, safety, and improved function. Your responsibilities include assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), implementing therapeutic interventions using adaptive equipment, and adapting treatment plans to meet individual needs. You will collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary team, caregivers, and families to ensure continuous, holistic care and progress toward therapy goals. Key duties involve promoting mobility, documenting progress, participating in team meetings, and supporting physical, cognitive, and emotional well-being through group and individual activities. The position emphasizes adherence to safety, ethical standards, and compliance with HIPAA and OSHA regulations. Qualifications include an accredited Associate Degree in Occupational Therapy Assistance, passing the NBCOT exam, and state licensure as required. Prior experience working with the elderly is preferred, with training provided if necessary. Candidates must have reliable transportation, up-to-date immunizations, pass background checks, and be medically cleared to engage in participant contact.
