Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) - Anesthesia - Sugar Land Veterinary Specialists & 24 HR Emergency Care

Sugar Land Veterinary Specialists is rapidly growing and we are looking for a talented and motivated Surgery and Anesthesia Technician to join us.

Our surgical team at Sugar Land Veterinary Specialists is looking for a technician to:

• Work with brilliant and caring board certified surgeons
• Be a part of a team of technicians and surgeons that have a positive and engaged culture
• Provide high quality patient care
• Place arterial and central lines, urinary catheters, and NG Tubes
• Administering local and regional anesthesia
• Perform critical care anesthesia to include mechanical ventilation and TIVA
• Perform surgical preparation
• Engage in client interaction and education during initial consultations and dismissals
• Assist with bandage application and changes

Do you love being a surgical assistant on the following types of cases?

• Orthopedics and Arthroscopy
• Regular and complex soft tissue
• Interventional radiology
• Oncologic

We are looking for an LVT, VTS or an LVT on track to become a VTS in anesthesia. We love having not only independent, intelligent, patient-first techs with outstanding technical and critical thinking skills but one that promotes a culture of teamwork, mentorship, willingness to learn, and positivity.

Requirements: LVT with at least 4 years of experience in a specialty surgery and anesthesia setting and having knowledge about specialty surgical procedures, surgical assisting experience, instrumentation knowledge, and being able to independently run up to level 5 ASA anesthesia cases. A background in training junior staff is desired.

Schedule:

• Four 10-hour shifts
• Three 12-hour shifts may be available
• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
• Rotate weekends
• On call with a call in fee

License/Certification:

• Veterinary Technician License required
• Veterinary Technician Specialist: not required
