About the Position

Job Title: Respiratory Therapist Profession: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics Specialty: RRT Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 1 year minimum License: New York state license required in hand prior to submission Certifications: ACLS, BLS, CRT, NRP Must-Have: First-time travelers accepted. No local candidates accepted, must be over 50 miles from the facility. Experience in adult critical care is required. Basic EKG skills are a plus. Familiarity with EPIC charting system is required. Description: The position requires proficiency in a fully functional respiratory therapy department. Responsibilities include care in various settings including ICU, ER, Medical/Surgical, Pediatrics, and low volume newborn stabilization. The therapist may work alone or in conjunction with another therapist. A compassionate approach is essential while caring for primarily adult patients. Flexibility to provide care for all age groups, including newborn and pediatric patients, is necessary. Routine medication delivery through invasive and non-invasive ventilator management is part of the role. Knowledge of various patient diagnoses will be required. Candidates may be asked to perform occasional EKGs in support of cardiology. Additional experience with equipment such as Servo I, LTV, and Hamilton T1 ventilators is preferred. Must be able to adapt to a changing care climate as needed.
