Special Events Specialist

Position Overview Special Events Specialist – responsible for establishing, managing, and promoting city-wide events and public recreation outreach initiatives. Requires experience organizing special events for municipalities, strong logistics, community engagement, and cross‑functional collaboration. Must be highly organized, have excellent interpersonal skills, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Compensation Hiring salary is dependent upon experience. The hiring range is $68,623 - $76,248 annually. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Recreation, event planning, or related field and five years’ experience in event planning and oversight. Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered. Current CPR and First Aid Certificate or ability to obtain within three months of hire. Valid driver’s license and ability to operate various automobiles, including 15-passenger vans. CDL is not required.
