Production supervisor

We are seeking a results-driven Production Supervisor to oversee daily floor operations at our food manufacturing facility. You will lead shift personnel, drive line efficiency, and maintain strict compliance with food safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Shift Leadership: Supervise, train, and schedule floor operators; promote a high-performance culture.
• Production Targets: Monitor line throughput, reduce downtime, and meet hourly output goals.
• Food Safety & Compliance: Enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), HACCP protocols, and SQF guidelines.
• Quality Control: Partner with QA to address non-conformances and uphold strict product standards.
• Safety First: Maintain safe working conditions and conduct regular shift huddles.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of supervisory experience in food or beverage manufacturing.
• strong knowledge of GMPs, HACCP, FDA rules, and food safety standards.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams of 15+ employees on a fast-paced line.
• High school diploma or GED required; relevant degree or certification preferred.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: $80,000 -$90,000/year (plus shift differential)

Responsibilities

A Production Supervisor in a food manufacturing plant is directly responsible for daily floor operations, ensuring production targets are met while upholding strict safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

Core Responsibilities

• Operations & Output: Assign shift tasks, monitor line speeds, manage hourly throughput, and troubleshoot equipment downtime to meet daily production quotas.
• Food Safety & Compliance: Enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) plans, FDA/USDA regulations, and Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs).
• Team Leadership & Safety: Supervise shift staff, enforce OSHA workplace safety standards, manage timecards, conduct shift handovers, and train operators on equipment and safety protocols.
• Quality Assurance: Conduct product quality checks (weight, temperature, visual standards), ensure continuous cold-chain compliance where applicable, and address immediate quality deviations.
• Continuous Improvement & Waste Control: Track material yield, minimize ingredient waste and giveaway, and implement continuous improvement frameworks like Lean Manufacturing or 5S.

The essential functions of this role include:
