Upcoming Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) – Youth Detention Center | Raleigh/Durham, NC area Amergis Healthcare Staffing is building a pipeline of compassionate Registered Nurses for an upcoming 13-week contract opportunity at a Youth Detention Center in Raleigh/Durham area. Position Overview Location: Butner, NC Contract Length: 13 weeks (with strong potential for extension) Shift: 7a-3:30p and 12:30p-9p Schedule: Monday – Friday | 40 hours/week Compensation: $50/hr (travel rate available) Benefits: Full benefits package including health, dental, vision, and more Expected Duties and Responsibilities Direct Patient Care Conduct admission physical assessments for juveniles Administer medications and treatments as prescribed Monitor and document health status; respond to medical emergencies Provide wound care, IV therapy, and chronic disease management Health Education & Counseling Educate youth on health conditions, medication adherence, and preventive care Offer guidance on hygiene, nutrition, and healthy lifestyle choices Medical Coordination Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals on care plans Maintain accurate medical records and assist with discharge summaries Emergency Response Provide timely emergency medical care when needed Compliance & Safety Follow infection control standards and facility safety protocols Maintain compliance with state regulations and juvenile justice policies What We’re Looking For Experience: At least 1 year in correctional or behavioral health nursing (youth experience preferred) Licensure: Active NC RN license or multistate compact license Skills: Strong communication, empathy, and de-escalation abilities Commitment: Dependability and willingness to complete the full assignment Benefits Competitive pay & weekly paychecks Health, dental, vision, and life insurance 401(k) savings plan Awards and recognition programsFull benefits package including health, dental, vision, and more *Benefit eligibility is dependent on employment status.
