Day Program Assistant

Program Assistant – Adult Day Health Columbia, MD Part Time Day Shift | $16.00/hour The Program Assistant will assist in the daily care of health-impaired older adults or individuals with brain injuries, intellectual/developmental disabilities, emotional or behavioral disabilities, or mental health diagnoses. Responsibilities include implementing individual and group activity programs and ensuring the safety, security, and well‑being of program participants. What You'll Do Provide assistance in the daily care of health‑impaired older adults or individuals in our care. Assist with the implementation of individual and group activity programs and be responsible for the care, safety, security, and social/recreational activities for the individuals receiving support. Assist individuals with daily living, including personal hygiene, bathing, bathroom assistance, grooming, meal preparation, and medication administration. Provide guidance with social skills, advocacy, and self‑esteem, and teach strategies to live as independently as possible. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; must be 18 years of age or older. Minimum one year of experience providing services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, preferably with older adults. Proficiency in vital signs, weights, Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), and independent ADLs. Competence in CPR and First Aid. Strong attention to detail and effective communication skills.
