Senior Tax Accountant / CPA

We are partnering with an established boutique CPA firm seeking an experienced Senior Tax Accountant / CPA to join its growing team. The firm has a team of approximately 10 professionals and provides high-quality, personalized accounting and tax services to an established client base. Unlike larger accounting firms, this organization offers a hands-on environment where employees can build meaningful client relationships and have a direct impact on the firm's success.

The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of public accounting experience, strong tax preparation skills, and experience preparing financial statements. This position offers the opportunity to work directly with a firm partner, eventually manage client relationships, and potentially advance into a leadership role.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review federal and state tax returns for businesses and individuals, with an emphasis on corporate (1120) and S-Corporation (1120-S) returns.
• Prepare financial statements, including compilations and reviews.
• Assist clients with tax planning, compliance, and advisory services.
• Research tax regulations and provide recommendations regarding tax matters.
• Work closely with firm partners to ensure accurate and timely completion of client engagements.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships while delivering exceptional, personalized service.
• Review financial information, identify discrepancies, and recommend appropriate adjustments.
• Manage multiple client engagements while meeting deadlines, particularly during tax season.
• Stay current on changes in tax laws, accounting standards, and industry best practices.
• Take on additional client management and leadership responsibilities as experience and capabilities develop.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in public accounting, preferably with a CPA firm.
• CPA license preferred but not required.
• Strong experience preparing corporate and S-Corporation tax returns (1120 and 1120-S).
• Experience with financial statement preparation, reviews, and compilations.
• Working knowledge of tax planning, advisory services, and tax compliance.
• Proficiency with accounting and tax preparation software.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and communicate effectively with clients.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a smaller, collaborative environment.
